Duplex apartment in Bratislava

A 158 m² two-level apartment in Bratislava with a 20 m² terrace. We did the interior design project and technical documentation, made the custom furniture and carried out a turnkey renovation. Before work started, we prepared a detailed cost estimate covering construction and finishing work, materials, furniture, appliances, plumbing fixtures and lighting.
The interior follows a TOTAL BLACK scheme: graphite, dark wood, gray stone, black metal. To keep the apartment from feeling gloomy, the dark palette is offset by light stone-look floor tile, warm oak and several lighting scenarios.
Kitchen, dining room, living room
The kitchen, dining area and living room share one space by the large windows, and a staircase leads up from the dining area. The kitchen runs along one wall: the upper row of cabinets has handleless graphite fronts, with oak-look panels below and to the sides, and a backsplash and countertop in dark stone. The dining table, topped with stone, stands against a dark blue wall, with a long pendant of frosted globes above it. To the side of the living room is an open black metal shelving unit set against wood panels. Lighting comes from track systems with adjustable spots and linear modules, plus lighting under the upper cabinets.
Staircase, bedrooms, bathroom
The staircase has cantilevered oak-look treads, with winders at the turn. On one side is a railing of thin vertical rods; on the other, a handrail recessed into the wall and lit from below. The wall along the stairs is finished in gray decorative plaster.
From the landing, glass doors open onto the terrace. In the main bedroom, the TV wall is covered in walnut-look panels topped by a band of dark slats, with a floating console by the window. The children’s room is lighter than the rest: white full-wall wardrobes and a blue-gray shelving unit up to the ceiling.
The bathroom walls are finished in large warm brown tile and gray stone-look tile. The bathtub, basin and toilet are dark and matte, the shower is behind glass, and vertical light lines run up the corners.
